  • For the remote users:
  • On their computer (Windows XP or Vista) click:

  • Double Click “Printers”
  • Make sure all of the printers have a “0” under the name and that the word “Ready” is under that.
  • If there is a number other than “0”, please double click on the printer
  • In the new window click “File” and then choose to “Clear all print Jobs”
  • If the print jobs do not disappear, reboot the computer and check again.

How do I set up my VPN connection to the office?

  1. Setup the connection first
    • Click Start, Connect to & Show all connection
    • Click Create new connection
    • Click next
    • Select Connect to the network at my workplace and click next
    • Select Virtual Private Network connection and click next
    • Type a name for the connection (Anything is acceptable) & click next
    • Select “Do not dial the initial connection” and click next
    • Type in the Server name or IP address for the hostname and click next
    • Select “My use only” and click next
    • Check the Add a shortcut box and click finish
    • When the connection box opens, do the following:
    • Click properties and select the networking tab<
    • Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
    • Click Advanced
    • Uncheck the box next to Use default gateway on remote network and click OK 3 times
    • Input your username & password (You can have it remember the password if you'd like)

How do I add a picture to my Outlook Signature?

  • Click "Tools"
  • Click "Options"
  • In the New Window, click the "Mail Format" Tab
  • Click the "Signatures" Button
  • In the new window, if you have a signature already click "Edit" if Not, click "New"
  • Create your signature as you want it, then click the Icon that looks like a above and right of your text that looks like a Mountain & Sun. It will allow you to choose a picture to insert.
  • Browse to the location you saved this attachment, choose the picture and click "OK"

How Do I deauthorize all computers associated with my iTunes Account?

  • If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.
    1. Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
    2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

How do I start my computer in safe mode with networking?

  • Start the computer
  • As the Dell (or other computer manufacture) BIOS screen finishes, start pushing the F8 repeatedly (the key at the top of your keyboard)
  • If NOT done correctly, you will see the windows splash screen and you need to repeat the process.
  • If done correctly, you will see a list of boot option. Use the up/down arrow keys to select the one that says “Safe-Mode with Networking”
  • Press “enter” key
  • If the computer gives you a choice of operating systems to boot from, Just press the “enter” key
  • The computer will boot in a different way but once up, you should be able to log in normally
  • The screen resolution will be reduced but your basic programs will work in order for us to troubleshoot the system.

How do I use an FTP site?

  • I suggest you use FileZilla to transfer the files. (If you do not have FileZilla on your Laptop you can download it at: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php - Choose the Windows .exe file)
  • On your work computer click:
  • Start > All Programs > FileZilla Client > FileZilla
  • In the program on the top you will see “Quick Connect”:
  • Type the following information:
  • Host : Provided by FTP Host
  • Username: Provided by FTP Host
  • Password: Provided by FTP Host
  • Port: Leave this blank
  • Click “QuickConnect”
  • On the left side you will see your computer, On the right you will see the FTP site.
  • Find the files you want to transfer from your computer and drag them to the right side. That will begin the transfer up to the server.
  • When all the files have been moved up, you can give the information to the other ftp users and they can connect the exact same way. If they need to send you information, They just transfer it from their location to the FTP site, You will see it in the right pane when you connect and you would drag it from the FTP site to a folder on your computer.
